A Festive Farewell To Continental Congress and NINE MONTHS IN YORK TOWN

"A Festive Farewell" will be held on Friday, June 27 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 pm at the Colonial Court House in downtown York, where a variety of performances will celebrate the victorious return of Continental Congress to Philadelphia. All events are free and open to the public. Lunch vendors will be on-site throughout the event. At 1 p.m., the three County Commissioners -in costumes of 1778- will board a horse-drawn carriage at the Colonial Court House and travel down West Market Street to the Square marking the departure of Congress from York Town. "Nine Months in York Town" is a celebration of the Continental Congress' stay in York from September 1777 through June 1778. More information about the "Festive Farewell" is available by logging on to www.yorkheritage.org and clicking on the Nine Months in York Town logo or by calling 848-1587.
