Free Library Programs part of NINE MONTHS IN YORK TOWN

As part of the "Nine Months in York Town" celebration, local libraries will hold free programs about the Articles of Confederation and the writing of a York history book based on Continental Congress' nine-month stay in York Town in 1777 - 1778. On Monday, February 10 at 7 pm at the Red Land Library, Etters, Dr. John Altman, a professor at the York College of Pennsylvania, will provide a brief historical background on the Articles, how the government functioned under the Articles, and how that led to the drafting of the Constitution. Altman will also compare and contrast the structure and framework of the two documents, and lead a discussion about the style of government if the Articles of Confederation were still in effect today. -more- - Nine Months…Free Library Programs page 2 of 2 - At the Glatfelter Memorial Library in Spring Grove on Thursday, February 13 at 7 pm, Elizabeth Stein, author of "Continental Congress Courageous," will discuss the fascinating historical facts about the Congressional delegates who served in York Town from September 1777 to June 1778.
