P51 Mustang Model Build it Days 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Seats are Still Available February 18 - Agricultural & Industrial Museum (217 W Princess St. York, PA)
Join Chet Mohn, President of the Central Pennsylvania Chapter of International Plastic Modelers Society, as he conducts a model building class. The class is open to children ages 10-14 (for participants less than 12 years old, parents are asked to stay with their child.) Participants will construct a 1:72 scale model of the World War II era P51 Mustang fighter plane. During the session, the basic history of the plane will be discussed as well as the background of the modeling hobby. There is no cost to attend the program but pre-registration is required as space is limited.
The Model Build it Days class is supported in part by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.

Articles of Confederation Day
On November 15, 1777 the Second Continental Congress, while seated in York, adopted the Articles of Confederation, an epic document in American history, which served to unite the thirteen colonies into a unified confederation. This document matured as the forebear of the United States' current Constitution. Enjoy an autumn afternoon at the Trust's Colonial Court House (corner of West Market Street and Pershing Avenue), as the adoption of the Articles of Confederation is commemorated.

Second Annual Family Day
On April 2, the Trust held its second annual Family Day. Visitors enjoyed many activities from making an 18th century "buzz saw" toy, decorating flower prints, and learning about historic Firefighting equipment, historic printing presses, and much more.
The Trust would like to thank all of the many volunteers who made the event a success.
The Third Annual Family Day is scheduled for April 28, 2012.
York County Heritage Trust's Night at the Museum: A Family Overnight
The Trust’s Overnight program is a unique offering for families, allowing participants to spend the night at a featured Trust site or museum. Programs offer hands-on-activities, exclusive tours and other educational components. Typically, overnights are held annually (each featuring a different theme and focus. Past events have included themes related to the American Civil War, Colonial America, investigative science, and daily life during WWI & WWII.
