Fire Alarm!
Discover how fires start and how they are fought. Visit bright red fire engines and see where the horses lived that pulled them. See and hear an alarm sound in the station and find out what happens next. Children will learn the danger of fire and be taught fire safety.

Fruits and Vegetables
Children participate in an interactive market stand to learn how fruits and vegetables are purchased in the market. The fruits and vegetables are then placed into a basket map of York County to show where they are grown. Children conclude their lesson by touring Central Market and purchasing an optional lunch or snack. (Tuesdays and Thursdays only.)

Amazing Maize
Involve students in an a-maizing way while relating your study of Native or early Americans to life today! Students will grind corn, survey corn products, and enjoy a popcorn snack.

It Starts with a Seed (new and improved!)
Discover where vegetables and fruits come from. Learn about the tools farmers use for planting and harvesting. Activities include an experiment in planting in which children will actually plant a seed and then take the seed with them to watch it grow in their classroom.

Getting a Sense of York County
Use all five senses to discover the Industrial and Agricultural Museum of York! Activities include: hearing a player piano; touching and manipulating clay; tasting a York made snack; smelling factory oil and grease; and seeing machines move.

Turn of the Century Childhood
Find out what life was like for children in York County one hundred years ago. Activities include learning about toys of the period and hearing the story of the Bonham children.
