Pennsylvania Education Standards for Social Studies Education

Constitutional Workshop: Documents of Freedom: A Tradition of Rights

The Bill of Rights Institute is hosting a free one-day workshop entitled Documents of Freedom: A Tradition of Rights. At this free one-day seminar, you will discover resources to help engage your students with the Constitution, the Federalist Papers, the Anti-Federalist Papers and Madison’s Notes of Debates in the Federal Convention.
This workshop is for U.S. History, Government, Economics, Civics and Social Studies teachers and will help meet numerous state standards and will integrate with the Common Core.
Central York High School AP History Students' Video Project
During the spring of 2012, the Trust partnered with Central York High School to create two videos highlighting York's Colonial heritage through the Trust's Colonial Complex and Murals. Click below to see the videos.
York Murals & Articles of Confederation A Visit to York - The Colonial Complex York College of Pennsylvania Curriculum and Lesson Plans
Thanks to a partnership between York College of Pennsylvania (YCP) and the Trust, education majors enrolled in the course "Seminar in Curriculum" are tasked with creating grade specific content, curriculum, and lesson plans that incorporated visits, outreach programs, hands-on activities or other concepts and themes related to the general history of York County as the whole, and the relation to the museums, historic sites, or collections of the Trust. The Trust is grateful for the commitment of York College of Pennsylvania and the dedicated students who have given their time and talents to enhance the educational resources and offerings of the York County Heritage Trust.
