VISITOR GUIDE - Group Tours
 
  Adult Group Tours
  • Minimum Group Size: 10 adults
  • Maximum Group Size: 70-100 at most sites (larger numbers can typically be accommodated through various tour options and multiple site visits)
  • Availability Tuesday-Saturday
  • Tours available at 9:30 a.m., last tour start time 3:00 p.m.

Tour Amenities
  • Eating spaces available at the Agricultural & Industrial Museum and Historical Society Museum
  • Bus parking available at the Agricultural & Industrial Museum and Historical Society Museum (Drop off locations available at all sites)
  • Agricultural & Industrial Museum and the Historical Society Museum are handicap accessible
    • Due to the historic nature of the structures, the Bonham House, Colonial Complex, and Fire Museum are not fully handicap accessible.

Adult Group Tour Rates
  • $6.00 per person for up to two locations/events
  • $7.00 per person for three or more locations/events
  • Group leaders and bus drivers are admitted free of charge
  • Accepted forms of payment: Cash, Check, Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover)
  • Payment can be made prior to visit or on date of visit for total amount due
    • Final admission fees based on actual attendance
Please note that discount or free admission coupons cannot be used toward group tour admission costs. Groups arriving with less than ten in their party will be charged regular admission rates.

Reservations

  • Reservations are required 3 weeks in advance
  • April-August are usually the busiest tour months; advanced reservations are suggested
  • Tours booked on a first come, first serve basis

Guided and Self-Guided Options
  • Colonial Complex and Bonham House are seen with a tour guide
  • 15 minute complimentary orientation tour provided at the Agricultural & Industrial Museum, Historical Society Museum, and Fire Museum
    • Guided option available for an additional charge of $2.00/person

Group Walking Tours
A walking tour is the perfect way to rediscover the past. Our walking tours highlight historically significant sites within the city. You can choose Revolutionary and Colonial York, York during the Civil War or The York Murals.

Walking tours are available for groups of ten or more and must be scheduled three weeks in advance through the Trust's Education Department.

Average tour lengths: 45-60 minutes each

Civil War Tours
Manchester Township Civil War author and veteran lecturer Scott L. Mingus, Sr. is now available to lead guided tours of various sites in York County associated with the Gettysburg Campaign. For a free-will donation to the York County Heritage Trust, Mingus will present a customized tour of your choosing. Individual sites and tours include the
  • Skirmish of Wrightsville and the burning of the Columbia-Wrightsville Bridge
  • York under the Rebel Flag
  • Hanover Junction, the Battle of Hanover, and J.E.B. Stuart's Ride through York County

Other topics can be covered as requested. Tours are provided on an open schedule to be mutually determined, and will last between 2 and 4 hours depending upon the topic and interest level.
