Enjoy a look at the 11th Annual Book Blast!
Book Blast 2012 Wrap-up
Heat, humidity and showers did not deter the over 1100 attendees to the 12th Annual Book Blast. The C-Wing was filled with members on the first day with their special opportunity to look and buy. Culminating with Buck-a-bag on Saturday, the tables of sorted hardcover and paperback books were emptied, resulting in over $8500. Money raised from this event supports the collections, programs and educational activities of the Trust.
The YCHT staff extends many thanks; first to the York County community for donating books, secondly to the many volunteers that help sort and sell them and finally to those that attend! Special thanks to Newsradio WSBA 910, John H. Myers & Son, and Weis Markets, Queensgate for their support.
Mark your 2013 calendars! The York County Heritage Trust will begin accepting books on Tuesday, April 2nd. Donations may be dropped off during our hours of operation Tuesday thru Saturday 9am until 5 pm at the Historical Society Museum & library at 250 East Market Street. The last day for donations is Saturday, June 22th. We accept all gently used volumes but not encyclopedias, magazines, Readers Digest Books, textbooks and incomplete volumes.
The 2013 Book Blast opens to the public at 9:00 am on August 15th and runs thru August 17th, 2013. As in previous years, the event will share space with the A-Frame at the Agricultural and Industrial Museum at 217 West Princess Street. Remember, that YCHT members get a special invitation to the August 14th Members Only day.
