Book Blast August 13 - 15, 2015

From April until June 2015, thousands of books were donated for this year's Book Blast. Now they will be making their way to the Agricultural and Industrial Museum at 217 West Princess Street in preparation for Book Blast 2015. There, dedicated volunteers will sort and organize them for your buying pleasure. There will be hardcover books and paperbacks sorted into such general categories as children books, cookbooks, fiction, history, or genealogy.

Book Blast this year will feature books from the library of Jim Rudisill. Mr. Rudisill is described in the YCHT 2010 edition of the Journal of York County Heritage: "His work as a teacher in the York City School District, as curator of education at the Historical Society of York County, for its successor the York County Heritage Trust, and generally throughout the historical community, has inspired students, researchers and writers of local history." His library includes books on art, history, religion, as well as numerous other topics.

Admission to the Book Blast is free. It opens to the public at 9:00 am on August 13th and runs through August 15, 2015. Saturday, August 15th is Buck-a-Bag day, where you fill provided bags with any remaining general category books for just $1.00. Also on Saturday, August 15th, the local history and special collectible area books will be half-price.

Remember, that YCHT members get a special invitation to the August 12th Members Only day.
