“Gets Small” with
History Untapped: An Artisan Beer Affair
The York County Heritage Trust’s craft brew festival, History Untapped: An Artisan Beer Affair, will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016, from 5-9 p.m. at the Trust’s Agricultural & Industrial Museum, 217 W. Princess Street, York.
In this, the 19th year for the Trust’s craft brew fundraising event, History Untapped is defining itself as “far from the biggest,” but perhaps the most unique, beer festival in the south central Pa. region. In a departure from the past, and from most of the mega-festivals that pepper the York/Lancaster/Harrisburg area, the Trust’s re-modeled event seeks to “go small,” which translates to a smaller crowd, a more relaxing atmosphere, a chance to have a conversation with the brewers, and most unique of all, a focus on food-and-beer pairings.
Food pairing is defined as the practice of creating dishes that will complement the beer because they have major flavor components in common. History Untapped: An Artisan Beer Affair will feature tastings, paired with signature dishes from local caterers and restaurants. The newly re-styled event was modeled in response to the increased availability of craft brews locally, and the increasing desire by past attendees for a more intimate experience.
In addition, it’s the only craft brew festival where you can sip and nosh among the historic farm tools and industrial artifacts of York County at the Trust’s Agricultural & Industrial Museum. This unique setting sets the event apart with a gritty and rustic venue and its adjoining courtyard.
Tickets go on sale to Trust members on Friday, April 29, 2016 and to the public on Friday, May 6, 2016. Tickets are $55 for Trust members and $65 for the public. Limited tickets are available. Click Here!
